Request for Proposal: Project-Based\u00a0WordPress Developer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Background<\/strong><\/p>\n

Established\u00a0in 1997, the River North Residents Association (RNRA) is a 501(c)4 non-profit\u00a0resident advocacy organization working to protect and enhance the quality of\u00a0life in\u00a0Chicago\u2019s River North neighborhood. The primary areas of focus have\u00a0been public safety, responsible development and commerce, infrastructure and\u00a0amenities, public green space,\u00a0support for local charities and entertainment\u00a0and social events. RNRA represents over 11,000 members.<\/p>\n

RNRA\u2019s\u00a0WordPress website is the organization\u2019s primary digital\u00a0platform for engagement with members, sponsors and other constituents. Since\u00a0its launch, the site\u00a0has been very reliable, its functionality has been\u00a0adequate and several members of the leadership team have been trained to add,\u00a0edit and manage basic content.<\/p>\n

From\u00a0time to time, RNRA will undertake a project that involves adding or changing more\u00a0complicated website features, plugins or widgets, or integrating external\u00a0platforms. Such\u00a0projects may require the services of a WordPress developer with\u00a0more advanced coding skills and experience. RNRA wishes to establish a\u00a0relationship with such an individual\u00a0or enterprise that will function as an\u00a0external I\/T consultant on an as-needed basis.<\/p>\n

Process<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. RNRA\u00a0will send to the Consultant, well in advance and in a format agreed to by the\u00a0parties, a description of the proposed project, and\/or the particular technical\u00a0challenge facing the\u00a0organization and the objective(s) it wishes to achieve.<\/li>\n
  2. The\u00a0Consultant will respond, in a manner and time-frame agreed to by the parties,\u00a0with a proposal including the costs, resources and time required to complete\u00a0the project.<\/li>\n
  3. If the proposal is accepted, the project will\u00a0commence. Each project will constitute a separate contractual agreement.<\/li>\n
  4. The parties will communicate as needed before,\u00a0during and after each engagement.<\/li>\n
  5. Upon successful completion of each project,\u00a0RNRA will remit the agreed-upon payment to the Consultant.<\/li>\n
  6. Consultant will provide post-project technical support as agreed to by the parties.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Other Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. In the event that RNRA grants access to any proprietary\u00a0or non-public systems, platforms, materials or information, consultant must\u00a0protect such assets in an appropriate\u00a0manner as directed.<\/li>\n
    2. Consultant\u00a0will be considered an independent contractor and not an employee.<\/li>\n
    3. Projects are expected to commence early in Q1\/2018.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
