In May, \u00a0Alderman Brian Hopkins \u00a0joined Mayor Rahm Emanuel in announcing the expansion of the CTA’s free Wi-Fi network service to all downtown Red and Blue Line station platforms. This new service is available at 18 stations and is ideal for\u00a0commuters who want to quickly download media, large files or simply access the Internet without using their data from their monthly wireless service packages.<\/p>\n

Station platforms now equipped with the new Wi-Fi service include:<\/p>\n

\u2022 (Blue Line) Monroe<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Blue Line) Jackson<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Blue Line) LaSalle<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Blue Line) Clinton<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Red Line) North\/Clybourn<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Red Line) Clark\/Division<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Red Line) Chicago\/State<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Red Line) Grand<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Red Line) Lake<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Red Line) Monroe<\/div>\n
\u2022 (Red Line) Jackson<\/div>\n

The Blue Line\u2019s Belmont and Logan Square stations will be equipped with Wi-Fi by late May. The cost of this new Wi-Fi service in all Red and Blue line subway stations is approximately $1 million and was paid out of CTA\u2019s\u00a0operating budget.<\/p>\n
