{"id":14838,"date":"2019-08-02T17:57:23","date_gmt":"2019-08-02T22:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rnrachicago.org\/?p=14838"},"modified":"2019-08-02T17:57:23","modified_gmt":"2019-08-02T22:57:23","slug":"24-hour-lane-reductions-on-ontario-between-orleans-and-wells-starting-monday-august-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsite.rnrachicago.org\/?p=14838","title":{"rendered":"Construction Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14847 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/rnrachicago.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Construction-Updates-300x116.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"116\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>24 Hour Lane Reductions on Ontario, between Orleans and Wells, Starting Monday &#8211; August 5<\/h4>\n<p>Beginning Monday, August 5 at 12:01am, 24 hour lane reductions on Ontario, between Orleans and Wells will commence to allow for the repainting of the section of the Brown Line over Ontario Street.\u00a0Traffic will be reduced down to\u00a0two lanes during the work.<\/p>\n<p>No Parking\/Tow Zones will be in effect on Ontario, between Orleans and Wells for the duration of the work.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>Beginning Friday, August 20 through Friday, September 16, Franklin between Ontario and Ohio will be closed to all vehicular traffic (weather permitting).<\/h4>\n<p>Work on this important Public Benefit will continue through the\u00a0summer and fall, as long as temperatures permit to facilitate the painting work.<\/p>\n<p>There will be noise (including nighttime periods) while the work is being performed:<\/p>\n<div>\u2022 Beeping from backup alarms on construction vehicles<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Construction equipment traffic<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Flagging horns<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Railroad personnel communication<\/div>\n<p>As residents may be aware, the CTA is currently repainting 895 feet of the Brown Line Tracks through local impact funds that Alderman Reilly secured from three private development projects in the Ward (142 W. Hubbard, 300 W. Huron,\u00a0and 110 N. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during work.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>One Chicago Square-1 W Chicago Pedestrian and Traffic Impacts<\/h4>\n<p>Although fencing is already in place for the sidewalk closure, pedestrians still have access to the sidewalk, but should exercise caution when walking by the construction site.<\/p>\n<p>The Curb Lanes along Chicago, State, Superior, and Dearborn will remain a No Parking\/Tow Zone throughout the project, to allow for demolition, and then the protected pedestrian walkway.<\/p>\n<p>The sidewalk along the east side of Dearborn, from Superior to Chicago, has been closed to pedestrian traffic.
