{"id":16080,"date":"2019-12-19T15:02:42","date_gmt":"2019-12-19T21:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rnrachicago.org\/?p=16080"},"modified":"2019-12-19T15:02:42","modified_gmt":"2019-12-19T21:02:42","slug":"river-north-clean-streets-over-11-tons-of-trash-recyclables-cleared-from-river-north-streets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsite.rnrachicago.org\/?p=16080","title":{"rendered":"River North Clean Streets &#8211; Over 11 Tons of Trash &#038; Recyclables cleared from River North Streets"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-14030 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/rnrachicago.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/RNCS-Group-Shot-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3264\" height=\"2552\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">A Cleaner, Safer &amp; More Compassionate Neighborhood<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">What is River North Clean Streets?<\/h3>\n<p>Now in it\u2019s third successful year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rncleanstreets.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">River North Clean Streets<\/a> is a 501(c)3 non-profit, founded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/rnrachicago.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">River North Residents Association<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rivernorthassociation.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">River North Business Association<\/a> and endorsed by both Alderman Brendan Reilly and Commander Daniel O\u2019Shea.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2019 Season ran from May through October 2019:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>629 bags of trash and 309 bags of recyclables (over 11 tons) were removed from our streets.<\/li>\n<li>Nearly 100 hard-working crew members received potentially life-changing opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Problem:\u00a0<\/strong>Unfortunately, our many visitors often leave a shocking amount of litter behind when they head home after a night on the town.
