{"id":19071,"date":"2020-11-03T12:10:03","date_gmt":"2020-11-03T18:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rnrachicago.org\/?p=19071"},"modified":"2020-11-03T12:10:03","modified_gmt":"2020-11-03T18:10:03","slug":"community-meeting-for-north-union-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsite.rnrachicago.org\/?p=19071","title":{"rendered":"Community Meeting for North Union Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-19069 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/rnrachicago.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/North-Union-Project.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"910\" height=\"367\" \/>The Department of Planning and Development will host a virtual community webinar to review the plans for\u00a0JDL Development\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicago.gov\/city\/en\/depts\/dcd\/supp_info\/north-union.html\">North Union site<\/a>\u00a0on the Near North Side.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting will take place on Zoom at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cityofchicago-org.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_C_7mrTLhRwCcHmHQEuk9PQ\">Registration for the Zoom webinar is open now<\/a>, and the presentation will be posted on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicago.gov\/city\/en\/depts\/dcd\/supp_info\/north-union.html\">City\u2019s website<\/a>\u00a0in advance of the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>JDL proposes to purchase and redevelop 8.1 acres of land from the Moody Bible Institute, which would\u00a0continue to own and operate an educational institution and media ministry on its remaining 9.4 acres.<\/p>\n<p>Generally bounded by the CTA Brown Line tracks and Oak, Chestnut and Wells streets, the North Union site\u00a0is proposed to include a variety of low-, mid- and high-rise buildings that consist of approximately 2,680\u00a0residential units, 30,000 square feet of commercial space and approximately 1.3 acres of public open space.<\/p>\n<p>Thorough details about JDL\u2019s proposal will be provided during the meeting.
