River North Residents Association’s strong opposition to Bally\u2019s casino\u00a0proposal for the Tribune Publishing site is set forth in our December 3, 2021\u00a0letter to\u00a027th Ward Alderman Burnett,\u00a042nd Ward Alderman Reilly, and 2nd\u00a0Ward Alderman Hopkins.\u00a0
RNRA’s letter, which may be accessed\u00a0HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, describes significant negative\u00a0impacts that a large-scale entertainment complex would have on traffic, public\u00a0safety and quality of life for thousands of residents in the densely populated\u00a0surrounding area.
On March 22, the City of Chicago announced the selection of three finalists, one\u00a0of which will receive the sole license to operate a Casino in our city. Three\u00a0community meetings are scheduled, where you will learn more about each site\u00a0and have an opportunity to ask questions and share comments or concerns.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nRiver North residents are strongly encouraged to register and attend the\u00a0April 6 meeting on the Tribune Publishing site<\/b>\u00a0(shown below).<\/span><\/div>\n\n\nTribune Publishing Plant (700 W Chicago Ave)
