{"id":7363,"date":"2017-10-05T17:05:18","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T17:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rnrachicago.org\/?p=7363"},"modified":"2017-10-05T17:05:18","modified_gmt":"2017-10-05T17:05:18","slug":"neighborhood-notice-street-closures-for-the-chicago-marathon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsite.rnrachicago.org\/?p=7363","title":{"rendered":"Neighborhood Notice:  Street Closures for the Chicago Marathon"},"content":{"rendered":"<table width=\"100%\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagomarathon.com\/participant-information\/course-amenities\/street-closure-notification\/\">The 40th Bank of America Chicago Marathon<\/a><br \/>\nOn Sunday, October 8th, more than 40,000 runners will be racing through the streets of Chicago, as they make their way to the finish line of one of the premier running events in the world.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assets-chicagomarathon-com.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Street-Closure-Brochure.pdf\">Parking and Street Closures<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>No Parking Zones<\/strong> along the course will be enforced beginning at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, October 8. Please look for no parking signs in your area for full details.\u00a0Vehicles will be ticketed and towed to the nearest auto-pound. For inquiries about towed vehicles, call 312.744.4444.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Street Closures<\/strong> along the route will occur between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.<br \/>\nCity streets will re-open promptly as the final runners pass through (at a 15-minute mile pace). The Chicago Police Department will be responsible for closing and re-opening streets, they will do so in a manner ensuring runner and spectator safety. Please follow their instructions when approaching streets on the course. The 26.2-mile course runs through 29 Chicago neighborhoods. The route extends north to Addison St., west to Damen Ave. and south to 35th St.<\/p>\n<p><u>NEW THIS YEAR<\/u><br \/>\nNorth and south-bound Michigan Avenue will be closed for a\u00a0limited time on Sunday, October 8.
