50 x 50 Neighborhood Arts Project<\/a>. \u00a0The\u00a0sculpture was installed at the median on State Street, just north of Lake Street – known at the\u00a0Gateway on State.<\/p>\nLoop Da Loop\u00a0is a large-scale public sculpture, crafted from aluminum and steel, and stands at\u00a0eleven feet tall. \u00a0It draws inspiration from its site and incorporates concepts of “the Loop” on\u00a0multiple levels. \u00a0Designed to enhance the surroundings, the sculpture’s forms reference the “L”\u00a0tracks – situated directly above and below the sculpture, and intertwines local typography with\u00a0the unforgettable “C” – a classic symbol of the city. \u00a0Loop Da Loop\u00a0includes enough abstraction\u00a0that individuals can discover their own interpretation as well as simply enjoy the sculpture\u2019s\u00a0aesthetic.<\/p>\n
John Adduci is an internationally recognized artist, craftsman, fabricator, and lifetime Chicago\u00a0resident based on the Near North side. \u00a0He maintains a strong presence in Chicago\u2019s sculpture\u00a0and art communities, with works exhibited throughout the city, including private collections,\u00a0educational institutions such as Lincoln Park Zoo and Chicago Children\u2019s Museum, and\u00a0Universities of Illinois and Urbana Champaign.<\/p>\n
