The data gathered\u00a0serves as a basis for federal funding, for service and resource planning, and to raise public\u00a0awareness about homelessness.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofchicago.org\/city\/en\/depts\/fss\/provdrs\/emerg\/alerts\/2017\/october\/volunteer-for-the-2018-homeless-count.html\">Volunteer for the Chicago Point-in-Time Homeless Count<\/a><br \/>\nThursday, January 25th, 2018<br \/>\n8 pm to 2 am &#8211; Citywide<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers are instrumental in this effort, working in teams, they canvass the entire city in a span of\u00a0a few hours over the evening.
